Founded in August 2014 and based in Huntsville, Alabama, Ahava is a Black-owned online brand rooted in creativity, intention, and honoring where we come from. Every piece reflects African heritage… not just inspired by it, but connected to it.
Nothing here is curated… everything is created. By hand. On purpose.
From loc beads to earrings, nose cuffs, necklaces, bracelets, waist beads, and anklets… each piece is designed to feel personal. While most pieces are created for women, there are designs for men and we create pieces for children too… because expression doesn’t belong to just one kind of person.
The materials matter. The energy matters.
I work with African trade beads, African brass, semi-precious stones, wood, shell, and batik bone beads… along with metals like raw brass, copper, sterling silver, and select finishes. Everything is chosen with intention… to reflect beauty that already exists.
And one thing about Ahava… we’ve always been size inclusive.
Every body deserves to be adorned… to feel seen… to feel beautiful… to feel like themselves.

Meet Ny'zaiyah
The heart and hands behind Ahava By Ny’zaiyah… a calm presence… a whole vibe.
Ny’zaiyah is Texas-born, Louisiana-raised, and now rooted in Alabama… the place where Ahava came to life.
Creativity was always around her. Raised by a fiercely creative mother… a jewelry designer and constant source of inspiration… and a hardworking father, she grew up understanding what it meant to create, to build, and to pour into something with purpose. So naturally… she found her way there too.
From a young age, she was drawn to color… bold patterns… and the deeper meaning behind African jewelry. The symbolism, the history, the feeling… it stayed with her.
For Ny’zaiyah, designing isn’t just art… it’s something deeper.
It’s a way to honor her mother’s legacy… to stay connected to her roots… to express what lives inside. What started as something personal… something just for her… grew into something bigger.
