Always store your pieces in a dry, cool place—preferably in a pouch or jewelry box—to reduce exposure to air and humidity, which can accelerate tarnishing.

• Remove your jewelry before showering, swimming, exercising, or sleeping.

• Store pieces separately in a soft pouch or jewelry box to prevent scratches and tangling.

• Keep away from extreme heat or prolonged direct sunlight, which can affect finishes and colors.

​METAL JEWELRY CARE

At Ahava By Ny’zaiyah, we primarily use raw brass, sterling silver, and pure copper in our handcrafted designs, with occasional use of plated metals. These natural materials are loved for their warmth and character, but they will naturally oxidize or develop a patina over time due to exposure to air, moisture, and the oils from your skin. This aging process is completely normal—and often adds unique beauty—but if you prefer a polished look, it's easy to restore their original shine.

FOR REQULAR JEWELRY CLEANING: ​Use warm water and a mild soap with a soft cloth or toothbrush to gently remove dirt and oils. Dry thoroughly before storing.

 

FOR LIGHT TARNISH: ​Try a natural solution like lemon juice and baking soda. Gently rub the mixture onto the metal, rinse well, and dry completely.

 

FOR HEAVY TARNISH: ​Create a paste using baking soda and lemon juice or a mix of vinegar and flour. Apply it to the metal, let it sit for a few minutes, then rinse and polish with a soft cloth.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE: If your jewelry includes stones, be especially careful during the cleaning process. Some stones can be sensitive to acids, moisture, or abrasives. When cleaning, focus only on the metal areas and avoid direct contact with the stones unless you’re sure the method is safe for them.

​ STONE JEWELRY CARE

 

Beads and stones used in our designs may be metal, natural, dyed, or coated, and each type has different sensitivities.

• Clean gently using a soft cloth—avoid soaking or using harsh chemicals.

• Some stones (like turquoise, howlite, or malachite) are porous and may absorb liquids or discolor.

• Always clean around the stone carefully if using metal polish or natural cleaners on surrounding metal.

STRETCH BRACELET CARE

Our stretch bracelets are made with a high-quality, clear elastic cord designed for durability and long-lasting wear. While the cord is strong and resistant to fraying, it can gradually lose elasticity over time—especially if repeatedly overstretched.

TO PRESERVE THE LIFE OF YOUR STRETCH BRACELET:

​

• Always roll the bracelet on and off your wrist rather than pulling or stretching it wide. 

• Avoid excessive tugging or yanking, which can strain the elastic and weaken it over time.

• Keep away from water, lotions, and perfumes, as prolonged exposure can degrade the cord.

WAIST BEAD CARE

 

At Ahava By Ny’zaiyah, we offer three styles of waist beads:

• Traditional Tie-On Waist Beads

• Brass Clasp Waist Beads

• Stretch Waist Beads (available upon request)

 

Regardless of the style, please be mindful when using the restroom or changing clothes. Avoid tugging or pulling forcefully, as this may cause your waist beads to break.

Repairs

All Ahava By Ny’zaiyah jewelry is handcrafted with love and backed by our quality guarantee. If your piece is  damaged within 30 days, we offer one complimentary repair per item (you pay shipping). After that, repairs are available for $5 per piece, plus shipping.
